Minecraft, YouTube and you: "It's complicated"

Minecraft is your new favorite thing.

(Preceded by, in order, Hot Wheels, Transformers, Hero Factory, Lego Ninjago, Trash Packs, Lego Chima, Angry Birds Star Wars
and Ben 10.)

Minecraft is this old school video game in which players build and explore and interact this virtual world. No other characters or people (except if you connect to other players online) but you can "kill" cows and sheep to eat them, plant seedlings, dig holes, etc.

It reminds of a super early SIMS kind of a game, which was the virtual reality game of my youth, but the boxy, pixelated navigation is even more retro than the games I played!

Why does it looks so old school?, I asked him. "It just looks that way because they designed it that way. I don't really know this is just a guess. Maybe it's because they really wanted to make the game stand out. Basically."

Like all the things you've been interested in since you we're about 3, your curiosity about Minecraft was directly fueled by YouTube, where you (and now that he's here, your brother) watch cartoons, reviews of toys, and other people playing games, including video games. The Internet, and these videos, have given you access to such an incredible world of knowledge, which has led you to so many interesting toys and fictional worlds.

I'm a tech nerd, but I never could have imagined its impact on you!

Love you.
